The
Drum and Bugle Corps presents ...
Pics from the Sunrisers Archive
|
I came across this picture from an old photo album.
Thought you guys might be interested in posting to your web site. The photo
was taken on Sunday, August 11, 1963 at the famed, but long since demolished
New York Polo Grounds. The Sunrisers performed in between games of a New
York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs baseball doubleheader. The picture is taken from
my seat along the third base side of the field. The corps is unidentifiable
from the distance, but it is the Sunrisers. The picture is neat because of
what you can see of the old stadium. That day was a promotional day for the
2 year old Mets. It was Rheingold Day. Rheingold was their beer sponsor
and the day's festivities included the crowning of Miss Rheingold along with
the Sunrisers performance. Hope it brings back memories for those who were
there!
