Guard Design/Choreography & Caption Head - DARREN DELANEY - Darren Delaney returns to the Sunrisers as the color guard caption for the third consecutive year. Darren's previous marching credits include: The Boston Crusaders, The Cavaliers, The Company Colourguard, Pegasus, The New York Skyliners, The Hawthorne Caballeros, The Connecticut Hurricanes, and The Bushwackers. Darren has won the DCA Color Guard I&E contest five times. He has been the Color Guard Caption Head of The New York Skyliners, Bunnell High School, and has been with The Port Chester High School Color Guard programs since 2000. Under his direction, Terpsichore, an independent color guard sponsored by Sacred Heart Universtiy, won the Independent A Class of WGI in 2003.

Visual Caption Head - DAVE CARAVELLA - Dave started his marching career in the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps as a baritone player from 2001 to 2003. He moved on to march in the Cadets of Bergen County in 2004, and the Concord Blue Devils 2005 and aged out in 2006. Dave is the visual caption head at Montville Township HS: 2007 USSBA Group IV State Champions (Best Visual, Best Effect), USSBA Group IV A Champions (Best Visual, Best Music, Best Effect). Dave also teaches at Fair Lawn High School as a brass & visual tech in 2003, 2004, and 2007. Dave returned in 2007 to the Raiders as a brass and visual technician. Dave marched contrabass in the Sunrisers in 2004, and served on the visual and brass staff in 2005 and 2006. Dave is receiving his bachelors of arts in music education from Montclair State University in May 2008.

Marching & Visual Technician - GEORGE PETRUNCHIO - George has been an asst. DM and visual technician since his return to the corps in 2001. He spent his junior corps years with the Valley Grenadiers of Hillsdale, NJ and a brief stint with the Hawthorne Muchachos before joining the Sunrisers. In past seasons George has been awarded numerous best DM awards at the local, state, and national levels of competition. George is a visual technician, band visual consultant, and visual judge. He has a teaching credential in both secondary and adult education.

Visual Consultant - JOE ROCHE - Joe joined the visual staff of the Cadets in 1987 as a Contra Tech and became visual caption head in 1989 under the mentorship of George Zingali and Marc Sylvester. In 1993 Joe Roche served as a visual consultant with the Star of Indiana drum and bugle corps and has since been involved with the activity as an adjudicator and clinician throughout the United States. Most recently Joe served on the staff of the Madison Scouts in 2004 as a visual consultant tutoring new staff members
Visual Consultant - GREG LAGOLA - (Choreographer, Design Consultant, Costume Designer) has served on the creative team of the World Champion Cadets Drum Corps for the past 16 years. Greg also served on the design team for the World Champion Emerald Marquis winter guard from 1990 through 2001, and Miamisburg High School. In addition to instructing, Greg has designed costumes for various color guards and Drum Corps, and is currently the designer of the "Greg" collection available through Fred J. Miller. Greg received his BA in Art from the Pennsylvania State University, and an AAS from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Greg works as a design director for a major women's apparel private label manufacturer and has recently launched his own men's designer collection, available in specialty stores
Brass Designer - DENNIS ARGUL- one of the most accomplished and sought after brass arrangers in the business Dennis has taught at Jersey City State University and is presently a fulltime Music Teacher at Arts High School in Newark, NJ (the first high school of the arts in the country). Dennis has performed in various venues in the New Jersey/New York area, including performing on Broadway, as a bass trombone, tenor trombone, tuba and euphonium player. He currently works as a freelance Low Brass musician throughout the metropolitan area. Dennis is also a freelance composer and arranger, most recently receiving an award through the New Jersey Council on the Arts in composition. We're honored to have Dennis be a part of our family and look forward to a long and prosperous working relationship with him
Brass Caption Head - SCOTT TOMLIN - Scott is currently an instrumental music teacher in the West Orange, NJ public school system, a position that he has held since 1994. Scott has taught at both the elementary and secondary levels in West Orange. From 1994-1996 he was the assistant marching band director and an elementary band director. Then from 1997 – 2000 Scott was the director of bands at West Orange High School. During this time Scott’s ensembles where consistently recognized for their fine quality and musicianship at state and national festivals. In 2001 Scott moved back to the elementary school full time where he has enjoyed shaping the musical future of West Orange. In the marching music world Scott has worked with many fine ensembles and teachers in his 20 plus years in the activity. Scott was a member and instructor of the Cadets from 1989 – 1994. During his time with the Cadets, Scott was fortunate enough to be a part of two DCI world championship drum corps (1990, 1993). Scott enjoyed time with the Sunrisers from 1997 – 1999, a time that saw him do everything from be the assistant brass caption head to Rich Guillen , and play mellophone in 1997, to becoming the drill writer in 1998 and 1999, then finally the drum major for the 1999 season. Scott has been a music judge for the USSBA since 2004, and has been a music arranger and drill designer for several band programs since 2001. Scott is a graduate of Montclair State University with a BA in music education, and he is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati. Scott is pleased to be making a return to the Sunrisers organization.
Brass Technician & Instructor - DAVID ABRAMS -David Abrams is currently the band director at Division Avenue HS in Levittown, NY. Previously, he has been the head brass instructor with the Huntington HS Blue Devil Marching Band (2004-2006). He received his B.A. in music performance (euphonium) from the University of Connecticut and M.A. in Music Education at Hofstra University. While at UConn, David marched in the band, served as its manager for two years and played with the University Wind Ensemble. Currently, David is performing in the Northwinds Symphony.
Brass Technician & Instructor - MOLLY TITTLER - a graduate of Hofstra University, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. At Hofstra, she played principal horn in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Student Woodwind Quintet. Molly’s most recent accomplishments include receiving the Caitlin Merie Hurrey Memorial Scholarship, a national scholarship from MENC, the Herbert D. Deutsch Award, in recognition of outstanding performance in music education, and the William Lawrence Honors Recital, awarded by Hofstra University. Molly has been a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps. She currently works at Hicksville High School, serving as the director of the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Winterguard. Molly is also pursuing a Masters degree in Wind Conducting from Hofstra University at this time.
Percussion Caption Head/Coordinator - ROBERT VILLANOVA -Mr. Villanova has been caption head of the Sunrisers since 2003. From 1996-2007 he held the position of Percussion Caption Head & Staff Coordinator for the Award Winning Port Chester High School Marching Band and Winter Percussion Ensemble in Port Chester, NY. For the past 11 years he has taught private lessons in the Westchester County area. Robert is currently instructing and consulting for Ramsey High School Marching Band, Ramsey NJ, Park Ridge High School Band, Park Ridge, NJ and the Nyack High School Band, Nyack, NY. He is also a Percussion Adjudicator for the USSBA Marching Band Circuit. Robert is part of the Marching Percussion Specialists program for the Vic Firth, Inc. Educational Team. He proudly uses and endorses Dynasty Percussion, Remo Drumheads, Meinl Percussion & Cymbals and Vic Firth sticks & mallets.
Percussion Design - SEAN VEGA - is the Program Coordinator and Battery Arranger for the WGI Independent World Class Champion Riverside Community College Winter Percussion Ensemble. Over the past five years this ensemble has not placed out of the top two spots at the WGI World Championship and has won the Gold Medal 3 times. RCC has also won the SCPA IW Championship Trophy four of the last five years, and is undefeated in WGI Regional competition. Sean also serves as the percussion arranger for the world-renowned Riverside Community College Marching Tigers. The Marching Tigers have a list of appearances that include the Bands of America Grand National Championships, the Pasadena Rose Parade, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and film and TV credits such as Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, The Truman Show, American Pie 2, American Pie: Band Camp, Monk, Boston Public, Charmed, and the Gilmore Girls.
This year will mark Sean’s ninth year as a member of the prestigious percussion staff of the eleven time DCI Champion Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. The Blue Devils is also where he served as a member of the tenor line from 1994 to 1997. In these thirteen combined years with BD, Sean has helped the corps win five DCI Championships, 3 DCI High Percussion Awards, and the DCI Multi-Tenor Individual Title in 1995.
Front Ensemble Design - BRIAN DINKEL -is an in-demand performer, arranger, and instructor from the Southern California region. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from CSU, Northridge, and is currently completing his BA in Music Education. As a performer, he has had the opportunity to play with artists such as Tom Scott, Ed Shaughnessy, Alex Acuna, Peter Erskine, and Jerry Steinholtz. He has also performed with ensembles like the Anaheim Kingsmen Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Black Knights Winter Percussion (2003 WGI Silver medalist) and Riverside Community College (2004 WGI Silver medalist). As an arranger, Brian has written marching band shows and indoor shows for Moorpark HS, Granada Hills HS, Ramona HS, Chaparral HS, La Sierra HS, Simi Valley HS, and many more. Brian currently is teaching 4-time WGI A class Finalist, Newbury Park HS, Granada Hills HS and the 2005 & 2007 WGI Gold-medalist, Riverside Community College Marching Band & Winter Percussion Ensemble. Brian has also been the pit instructor for the Esperanza Drum & Bugle Corps from San Diego, CA since 2004. Brian has been a member of the Vic Firth Education Team since 2003, and proudly uses VF sticks and mallets.

Front Ensemble Technician - PHIL COIRO - Phil Coiro is a member of the Copiague High School Marching Band percussion staff (front ensemble). Over the last five years, Coiro has been an instructor and clinician for corps, bands and schools around the tri-state area. He studied percussion performance with Raymond DesRoches and Dominic Donato at the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College. Phil leads an active freelance schedule performing professionally with a hand full of theaters throughout the Metropolitan New York area and currently resides in Lindenhurst, New York.

- NEIL COTE - Tenor technician - Marched from 2000-2003 at Immaculata HS Somerville, NJ High Drums USSBA Group 4 Open 2000 & 2002. Percussion staff Immaculata HS since 2005 capturing the USSBA National Percussion title in 2006. Neil also marched in the Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps in 2006 and United Percussion for the 2006-2007 season capturing the WGI Independent Open World Championship. Neil has been with the Corps on staff and marching since 2003.
BENJAMIN SCHWARTZ - Bass technician -
Ben Schwartz is a resident of northern New Jersey. He marched with the Sunrisers as a snare drummer in 2006. His marching experience includes time with the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps as a tenor player in 1997 and 1998, as well as with the West Chester University Marching Band as a bass drummer in 1998 and a snare drummer in 1999. Ben has taught and arranged music for several high schools marching bands including Governor Livingston, Sayreville, and Lakewood. On the drum corps side, he was the Percussion Caption Head/Arranger for Fusion Core in 2007. Ben also has an active career as a freelance drummer and percussionist. While marching with Sun in 2006, he won the I & E “Drum Set” competition. He is currently the co-band director and percussion arranger of Elizabeth High School..
