Ted Sasso: He was the "father" of the modern contra bass instrument,
and one of the all-time greatest contra players. Ted also was a terrific brass
instructor/advisor, and embodied the class and dignity that the Sunrisers were known for.
We will never forget his contributions as a horn instructor in the corps' first DCA
championship year of 1977. Teddy also served in management capacities with the Sunrisers.
