Dennis was one of the “young guns’ who joined the corps in 1974
and was a big factor in the corps’ success for years to come.
His loyalty to the Sunrisers was unquestioned; remember, Dennis
lived in Rhode Island and literally drove past two senior corps
who were closer to his home (Matadors and Hurricanes) to attend
Sunriser rehearsals. Dennis was a strong soprano player who later
switched to French horn when he was needed there in 1979.
He remained with the corps in some capacity through most of the 1980s,
and in 1999 once again was there when the Sunrisers needed him,
briefly coming out of retirement to join the ranks for that season.
