Sunriser Rookie of the Year |

Growing up in Drum Corps on L.I. since age 7, I was the product of
three great horn men. Ernie Fesler of Skyliner fame taught me to play
a Baritone. Ted and John Sasso refined the art and added the
Contrabass. So, of course as soon as I joined the Sunrisers, Ted puts
me back on Solo Baritone. I had wanted to play with the Sunrisers from
the first moment I heard 'The Joker', 'Sing Sing Sing', and
'Rockabye'. These were great years and great times.
Continuing in Drum
Corps, I won a few titles with Hawthorne (1972-1976) before taking 18
years off. I am a charter member of the Caballero's Alumni Drum Corps.
These days I can be found back in the Contrabass Section.
I work in
Investment Banking Data Processing and continue to live on Long Island
with my Wife Anna, our children and step children. It's great to see
the Sunrisers continuing the tradition, no matter where it is.
All the best,
Dennis Saccente
