Hello, my name is Rick Roberts. I am proud to say that I am a brass
instructor with the NEW Sunrisers, for the NEW millenium. I have been a
member of the brass staff since 1994. This being my 25th year in the
activity, some of my past drum corps accomplishments/associations include
Sunrisers ( this is currently my 11th year as a Sunriser), Bushwackers,
Garfield Cadets (83), Medford Grenadiers, and the Bengal Lancers of
Trumbull Ct. Instruments played are mellohone and soprano.
In the outside world, in addition to the "normal" job that I do, I am a
trumpet player, and play primarily in church ceremonies and community
theater productions in the Albany area. Some of my previous experience
teaching marching bands include THS marching band from Staten Island, NY,
Bassick H.S. in Bridgeport, CT, and Plainview H.S. on LI.
I value my position with the Sunrisers, as SUN was the FIRST senior corps
that I came into contact with, having grown up primarily on LI.
Specifically, the 1976 corps was an inspiration to me, when I saw them for
the first time at a parade in Rocky Point.
This is a special year, and a special time for the Sunrisers; It is a
trying time; a time of re-birth, and renewed spirit! TO ALL SUNRISERS, new,
