Hello ! ... My name is John Olson or (Johnny Beau-Hunk) from South Carolina.
I live in S.C. with my wife, Phyllis. We've been married almost 20 years and
have two sons (my step-sons) who both live in Brooklyn and work in the city.
I'm a chemical laboratory manager with a company here in Greenville.
I only marched one year with the Sunrisers,
but it was one of the most exciting summers that i've had.
I had played in highly competitive marching bands in high school
and college but none of that could compare to the summer
in Sun. That blew me away.
That summer I learned how intense and competitive drum corps really was.
I had the honor to march between two of the finest most upstanding gentlemen I've ever met,
Martin "Stan" Roche and Fran Haring, and not to forget some of the other fine ladies and gentlemen:
Vinny Conlon, Bubba, Lenny Haring, John & Michelle,
John (harry & tonto),
Al Franken and many more.
You know, we practiced hard that year but we partied harder
and that made it all worth while.
I'm in New York 2 or 3 times a year to visit our sons.
I would like to hear from some of you guys that remember who I am
and get together for a beer or 6.
Congratulations to all of the Sunrisers over the last 20 years for the successes
that you've achieved and good luck to all future Sunrisers.
