Hi! I'm Michelle Monturo, formerly
Michelle Calogianes.
Mellophone 1976 up to and including 1984.
Made the uniforms (AKA: flimsy whatchamacallits) for the entire drum corps.,
along with the flags, & anything else that was needed for 1980 .......... then
did it again in 1981 (only much better) along with my fellow uniform stitchers
..........particularly Isabelle (Licatta) Fitzpatrick & Maureen (Kelly) Conlon
I loved being a part of the sunrisers on the way up to our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, &
4th DCA championships but
I also loved being a sunriser during a few rebuilding years. To me, it was all
about the people & the spirit. I feel extremely honored to have been inducted
into the hall of fame.
****Please note that just about the whole mellophone
section from 1976 has been inducted into the hall of fame****
Pretty damn good for one of the smaller sections !!!
I had some great teachers & met a lifetimes worth of friends.
I now live in Gilbert, Arizona and
am employed at Phoenix Childrens Hospital as a Pharmacist (for real).
I have 3 wonderful children who are now:
Eric, 17... Christie, 10... & Joey, 5.
