Hi,
I was in the Sunrisers from 1980 - 1996 with 1 year off for bad behavior.
I came back in 2002 and am still there.
I live in Hillsborough, New Jersey with Ann, my wife, my sons Robbie (age 16),
who plays in the Sunrisers' Drumline,
Michael John (age 6) and daughter Jennifer (age 10).
Our pride and joy, every one of them!
This corps was once my life and the people in it, my family. I still feel that way and always will.
The Sunrisers have provided me with some of the greatest joys of my life and have helped me
through some of the worst times. I have known some of the greatest people and friends anyone could have.
Through my time with the corps, I have been taught lessons that will stay
with me throughout my life.
Long hot practices taught me that although nothing is easy, nothing is impossible.
Having that big drum on my back for so long now helps me carry my son or daughter,
sometimes both, on my back for hours and hours.
The corps taught me to deal with people through all kinds of emotion, both theirs and my own.
Taught me to win with grace or quietly improve myself when I didn't.
Taught me that some others make sacrifices that are greater than my own.
Taught me to do my best and let my performance do the talking.
Taught me to Enjoy today ... because everything might suck tomorrow.
Most of all, taught me to see humor in everything.
All true Sunrisers are a part of this family and that is why whether we
are physically here or not, if you are a Sunriser we are always there
with you in your heart.
