Hey Folks. Rich Cesani here.
I never actually marched but I was part of the percussion staff along with
Dave China, Larry Visconti,
Dennis Delucia and Brian Callahan for the '77,' '78,+' '79 seasons.
We had 2 DCA titles during that time and took high drums at finals for all 3 years.
I'm more proud of these achievements than any others in my time in drum corps.
Which includes National titles with the Garfield Cadets,['61 + '62];
Hawthorne Caballeros, ['66] and the Troopers
as instructor with Fred Sanford also in '66.
I moved to Memphis, were I still live, in 1980 to help set up a junior corps, The Memphis Blues.
That only lasted 3 years.
Although there is now a pretty good division II junior corps based here.
It was started by some of the "Blues" alumni.
I'm still involved with percussion as an instructor at local high schools.
I also teach privately and do a lot of playing. Mostly Jazz, Big Band, and some R+B.
I've also written some music for commercials and one movie, The Firm.
I can be seen in this movie in a scene early on, an outdoors roof-top party.
I'm the drummer in the band!!!
I am greatly honored to be included in your alumni list.
Best wishes,
--- Richard Cesani
