My Years With The Sunrisers
  2005     Soprano

I play soprano and my first year ever marching in a Drum Corps was this year, in the 2005 Sunrisers and I wouldn't exchange this experience for anything in the world.

Being in the Sunrisers has improved my level of playing a great deal and allowed me a chance to see my boundaries and break them down one by one. It has tested me mentally and physically and helped me to better myself. I owe a great deal to this organization for helping me push myself and become better. I can never thank the Sunrisers organization enough for that.

Being in the Sunrisers has also helped me to meet some of the nicest, fun loving, dedicated, and genuinely good people I feel this world has to offer. I feel honored to take the field in competition with these people. John Clougher, Josh, Tom, Andrea, Miranda, Vinny, Heather, Danny, Juan, Val, Vero, Nena, AB, Neil, Luke, Miguel, Aurelia, Alex, Larry, Derrick, Jess, Courtney, Hana, Bill Gutek; the list will go on and on, but I can't imagine what the Sunrisers would be without people like you in it. You guys are the heart and soul of this organization and I am damn proud to get in that Orange, Blue and White uniform and take the field with each and everyone of you.

I don't know where I'd be right now if it wasn't for my family who began this tradition many years ago. Papa, Jeff, John, Jimi, Duda, E, Mike, John: If it wasn't for you, I never would have experienced this and I couldn't imagine my life without it. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Hopefully I will march Jr. Corps and if I do I know the only home for me after I age out will be the Sunrisers. I couldn't even imagine marching anywhere else.

This year has been a hard year. It is winding down with only one show to go and then prelims. However we place, whatever we do doesn't matter as long as we perform with the Sunriser spirit that is within us. I am having the time of my life and that's all I can really ask for. I can never thank the Sunrisers organization or the people in it enough for this wonderful experience and I look forward to taking the field again shortly.

A Sunriser Forever,
