Years Marched:
1985 - Present, 1 year off for good behavior; 1986
Instruments:
Contra Bass, Baritone, Horn Staff, Administration, Truck
Driver, Field Painter
My many years with the Sunrisers include some of the best and most
memorable
events in my life. The Sunrisers have consistently exhumed a work
ethic and maintained
a class surrounding it like few others within the activity. The
dedication and
willingness of the membership to continually strive and move forward
as one is the
rule and not the exception.
Working with the likes of Zingali & Prime was an experience that few
can boast. Others such as
Jerry Corradino and Mike Longdo added superior talents to great drum
corps'. Complementing
these world class instructors were one of the top in-house staff's
any corps has developed;
Pete & Dave China, Ed Doscher, and my close friend Rich Guillen, have
always exerted the talent,
but more importantly, desire and dedication to reach greater and
grander levels.
In 1993, the Drum Corps World almost lost the Sunrisers, but thanks
again to the hard work and
dedication of many, that was not allowed to take place. Special
thanks to; Larry Visconti,
Dave & Sharon Freoni, Rich Guillen, Chris Bauer, Bud Williams and
especially the one person
the Sunrisers would cease to exist without, Gary Williams. These
people have enabled the
Sunrisers to AGAIN become the class of DCA.
To anyone who ever laced up a buck, tooted a horn, spun a flag, or
tapped on a drum, we each share in this fellowship know as the
Sunrisers. You are all our cornerstone of success.
The good times were many and the bad times were few, but together we
as the Sunrisers have overcome and prevailed to leave our mark etched
in the face of drum corps.
